HOT!!! Yeah no kidding. Here in Toronto it has been exceptionally hot this summer…but are we complaining? No Way!!
But is your air conditioner complaining? Maybe. Whenever you operate the air duct system for heating or cooling, the bottom of the A/C coil has a greater chance of clogging with dirt.
Give us a call and we might be able to help you over the phone, if not, one of our friendly technicians will be happy to stop by and help with your cooling needs.

| At City Duct Cleaning we always clean the air stream side of the furnace with each and every duct cleaning. We will clean out the filters, fan, fan compartments, heat exchangers, the air side of the plenums and the coils. This service is included in our base cost, as we find it one of the most important jobs to complete in a home.
Anyone can just clean the duct system in your home. Great, the inside of the ducts may be cleaned, but once your system becomes active again, your ducts are just as dirty when you started. The key is to clean the above components as part of the job.
During the procedure, we block off all the vents in your home, and our powerful truck-mounted vacuum puts your duct system under negative air pressure. We then supply 250 psi of air pressure to the actual vents as well as inside the main ducts. There is no where for the dust to escape. |
 |
If the air stream components are not cleaned as well, then they could possibly re-infect your heating and cooling system as soon as you start using your heating or cooling again. There should never be an extra charge to have this section completed.
There are, however, some exceptions to this rule such as when a coil is extremely plugged. This means the coil has collected so much dirt that it will no longer allow air to pass through it. Plugged coils require a lot of time to clean properly and if this is the case then there will always be an extra charge. Otherwise, a normal cleaning as part of our service always completes the job.

Dust is sneaky. Without even looking for it, it forms so you can see it. Dust is everywhere, and it is unavoidable. We allow dust to freely enter our homes on a day to day basis. Having windows open, opening doors to go in and outside, sneezing, animals, walking across carpeting, unrolling paper towels or toilet paper, folding laundry, shaking mats or scratching our skin all creates day to day dust. |
Your duct system recycles this contaminated air throughout your home every day all day. How does this affect you? When these contaminants find a hiding place in/on any of your furnace components such as filters, fans, fan compartments, heat exchangers, and air conditioning coils, they make your furnace tired. Just like when you go for a hike with only the stuff that you’re wearing, then your friend asks you to carry their backpack too, more weight, less movement. When this happens to your system it causes it to work harder and run continuously which in turn is costing you much more in energy costs. As if that is not enough in itself, the fan in your furnace is now blowing all this extra dust around your home.
Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of dust entirely, but there is a way you can gain control over the amount of dust and that is by properly cleaning out your air ducts. You are cleaning out the systems that allow all air to pass through your home and thus cutting down on the air borne pollutants that are invading your home.

Congratulations on your new purchase. Purchasing a new home can be overwhelming at times, but is major accomplishment in life. If your new or used home has a furnace with ductwork attached, we recommend that the ductwork gets cleaned first before you move in.
To help your family’s health, an air duct cleaning is the most important cleaning for your home. Airborne allergens and pollutants enter into your home, creating dirty air. This dirty air is then cycled through your HVAC system catching other dust and debris and spreading it everywhere. At home you should always have “peace of mind” and this includes the air that you breathe. You clean your counter tops on a regular basis, why shouldn’t you clean your duct system too?
If you have purchased a new home, then having your ducts cleaned should be number 1 on your list. Builders have hired contractors on site to do anything from carpentry to painting. Unfortunately, none of these contractors have a care on what they throw down your duct system. To them it is out of site, out of mind. Then it becomes your problem. In new homes it is common for us to find nails, screws, drywall, urine, pop cans, pizza boxes, cigarette packages and so on. These items will block the flow of air from moving in the most efficient way and it will also make the whole system work harder, thereby costing you more money to pay for the extra energy that is used.
If you have purchased a used home, we also recommend that the ducts be cleaned. You don’t know how the previous owners used to live. Where they clean people? Did they look after there responsibilities? Did they have pets? Did they smoke? Did they clean their ducts in prior years?
We at City Duct Cleaning recommend that every three years you should have your ducts cleaned. Within a 3 year time limit, it is estimated that you will collect around 7-10 pounds of dust and debris in your ducting system.Clean vents are healthy vents.
To get the best air quality in your house, please contact us for a free no – obligation quote on a whole house duct cleaning @ 416-293-1800. Your house is your biggest asset, so it is worth the little money to have your air duct cleaning done right.

Indoor air contaminants can come from many sources.
Air from the outside becomes indoor air, bringing in dust and exhausts from traffic. Another important factor to consider is that there are also industrially produced contaminants that are local to the area. These can include emissions from wood burning stoves or oil or gas furnaces and urban/agricultural pesticides.

At certain times, pollens and molds can be brought in as well. Without intervention inside the house such as the best filtration you can have or afford, the indoor air can only be as good as the outdoor air.
The good news is that there are always solutions to these types of problems. There are many different types of air filtration systems available. Some have advantages over others, some use electricity and some do not.
If you are interested in upgrading the air filtration system for your home or office, and if you are in the Toronto area, then please call us at City Duct Cleaning Inc. We are always very up to date on all the current models of filtration products and we can certainly help you to decide which would be best for your situation or specific needs.

Here are the top three reasons why people are generally interested in improving the indoor air quality in their homes:
- Prevention
While no known health problem has yet been directly linked to the home, there are young children in the family. Hearing about serious cases of contamination from friends or family is a common motivational factor for improving the indoor air.
- A known problem
Someone in the family has been diagnosed and/or may be suffering from allergies or asthma. There is a concern that the air quality in the house may be a factor.
- A serious health problem is identified
One or more occupants may be environmentally hypersensitive. For these people, improving the indoor environment is critical to their health.
Besides having your air duct system professionally cleaned and sanitized, there are a number of additional options available that can help to greatly improve the indoor air quality of your home. Upgrading your air filter, installing ultra violet lights or introducing fresh air into the structure are three of the most-considered options.
If you need help with any of these items, please call on City Duct Cleaning Inc. We are here to serve you and we are indoor air quality specialists. We service the Greater Toronto area.

Most people do not think about their air ducts much, despite their importance to every household. It is fair to say, then, that duct cleaning is often overlooked, but it is quite important. It will help improve your home’s air quality, helping you and your family breathes a little easier. Find out why you should get this task done by a professional.
Having clean ducts seems like a no-brainer since “dirty” is a word most people do not like when it comes to their home. Therefore, duct cleaning might not cross most people’s minds, but most are also not opposed to it when it is mentioned. This job can get rid of excess dust in the ducts, which can lead to cleaner air. Additionally, it can help your heating and cooling systems run at their best, which is particularly important in hot or cold regions in which the systems are used regularly.
Unfortunately, some people do not realize why only a professional should perform the duct cleaning. While many might assume that some type of service to the ducts is better than nothing, this is not always true, as improper treatment can actually cause problems.
For example, using an ineffective or cheap vacuum system to clean can spread dust and dirt everywhere, make your air quality worse than ever. This can cause illness in your family quite easily. Also, an untrained cleaner might actually ruin the system, which can make your heating and cooling bills much higher than they should be while rendering the system useless.
Clearly, attempting to save money by ignoring the issue is not good since your air quality will suffer. However, trying to save money by doing the task on your own or hiring someone who does not know what they are doing can also be harmful. In the end, skimping on duct cleaning costs could actually cost you more money and issues down the road, so do it right the first time.
To avoid such problems, you should research as much as you can before you settle on someone to do duct cleaning for your home. Getting the right company is important in order to get the job done correctly the first time. Otherwise, you could just be wasting your time and money, and possibly putting your system at risk in the long run. Help yourself and your home by taking this task as seriously as you would any other household job.
